Where is the shares data to be found

The default location for the share price data folders is "C:\Trading Data\Stocks\" then each Exchange has its own folder structure as below. Older installs may have the previous data folder path "C:\dataHQ\". If unsure of the data path on your PC, check the dataHQ "Support" page, this will list your data folder location.

C:\Trading Data\Stocks\ASX

The ASX sector data stops about June 2002, why hasn't the data been updating.

The ASX now uses a new standard called Global Indices Classification Standard (GICS), which means the market is categorised differently from the old familiar ASX system. The 12 new GICS sector indices have replaced the 24 ASX sector indices as of July 2002, you will find the data for these indices in the "Trading Data\Stocks\ASX\Indices" folder, the new codes are easily identified as they all end in the letter J eg XSJ.
